The laws upon which the theory of refrigeration is based and where they find their applications in refrigeration system.
- Heat can be converted into work and work into heat. This law that, "heat can be converted into work" applies in the generator of an absorption refrigerating machine and, "work can be converted into heat" finds its application in the compressor of a mechanical refrigeration system.
- If pressure of a gas be raised and temperature lowered, it will change into its liquid state. This law applies in the condenser of a mechanical refrigeration system.
- Under reduced pressure the liquid changes into its vapour state quickly by taking the latent heat from the adjoinings. This law takes place in the evaporator of a refrigeration system.
- Heat generally flows from a body from higher temperature to lower temperature. law applies when the term refrigeration is used. The heat flows towards the 'diem from the substance is to be cooled.
