- Condenser is a part in mechanical refrigeration system which condenses the gas above its critical pressure and below its critical temperature.
- To receive compressed vapours from the compressor and to liquefy them by removing their heat.
- It receives vapours above their critical pressure and above critical temperature from compressor and brings down the temperature below their critical temperature by transferring heat to air or water. In this way it condenses the gas.
Types of a condenser ?
- Air cooled condensers.
- Water cooled condensers.
- Evaporative type condensers.
AIR COOLED CONDENSERS
Air cooled condenser :- It is that condenser which is cooled by natural air or fan located on the motor or built into the compressor fly wheel. It is very common in domestic units or where cooling water is not available.
